How to suggest community prayers and actions?

Anyone who is part of a community on Engage has the ability to suggest any prayer for their group, it’s not just up to the leaders to provide suggestions!

1.     Make sure you’re in the connect page

2.   Select the community you would like to suggest a prayer for

3.   Tap on the three dots next to your communities name to add a prayer.

4.   Select “suggest prayer”

5.   Fill in the details!

6. Tap on the check mark in the top right corner.

You and your community will now see the suggested prayer below your conversation threads. As members take this prayer, everyone else in the community will be notified so they are also encouraged and reminded to take this prayer!

Over time, you will start to see how many times you have prayed for this item as a community, and if you tap on the prayer, you’ll be able to see how long you’ve all been praying for this item!

To close a prayer, tap and hold on any prayer item, a list of options will come up from you to choose from, select “move to finished.” Tapping this option will allow your community to still see your completed prayers and it’s details, without the prayer showing up with the rest of your active prayer items.

Anyone who is part of a community on Engage has the ability to suggest an action for their group, it’s not just up to the leaders to provide suggestions! To create a new community action:

  • Any community member can tap on the three dots next to their community name

  • From here, they can add all the necessary information of their action

  • Tap on the check mark in the top right corner

The new community action will then be added directly below the conversation threads.

We encourage communities to set actions for a determined amount of time, so the action never becomes irrelevant or stale. The length of the action will depend on its nature (i.e. “Reach out to a friend” could be active for a week, while “read a chapter from our book study” could last months.)

To close a suggested action:
  • Tap on the community action

  • Tap on the three dots in the top right corner and select “edit action

Change the “status” to “closed” at the bottom of the page
